Does this guide apply to your appliance?
Match the brand, device type and complete display code. The same code can mean something different on another product family or market; a series name does not confirm every model in that series.
Model and family references in this record:
Likely causes
- Laundry has clumped or shifted to one side of the drum or tub.
- The load is too small, contains one heavy item, or combines items with significantly different weights.
- A bulky load may be unsuitable for the selected cycle.
- The washer is not stable or level.
- The load contains an item that the model does not support, such as a carpet, rubber mat, curtain, or electric blanket.
- A recurring UE error with an empty drum may indicate a fault requiring service.
What to try
Redistribute the laundry
Easy- Pause the wash cycle.
- Open the washer when it is safe to do so and spread the items evenly around the drum or tub.
- Untangle or separate clumped items, then close the door or lid.
- Resume the cycle and observe whether the washer completes the spin.
Correct the load size and item mix
Easy- Avoid washing a single heavy item by itself.
- If the load is very small, add similar items only if appropriate for the cycle and garment-care instructions.
- Remove or redistribute incompatible heavy and light items.
- For bulky laundry, reduce the load and select a suitable bedding or heavy-load cycle if your model provides one.
- Do not wash carpets, rubber mats, curtains, or electric blankets unless your model’s manual explicitly permits them.
Check that the washer is stable and level
Moderate- With the washer empty or not running, gently check whether it rocks.
- Confirm that the washer is positioned on a stable floor.
- Adjust the leveling feet according to the owner’s manual until the washer sits firmly without rocking.
- Run a test cycle and check whether the UE error returns.
This step is marked caution. Stop if you are not qualified to continue.
Stop and arrange service if the error persists
ProfessionalThis is a service referral, not a do-it-yourself repair procedure.
- If UE returns after the load has been redistributed, the load size has been corrected, and the washer has been leveled, stop using the washer.
- If the error appears with an empty drum, do not continue testing it.
- Unplug the washer.
- Contact LG support or a qualified appliance technician for inspection and model-specific diagnosis.
