Does this guide apply to your appliance?

Match the brand, device type and complete display code. The same code can mean something different on another product family or market; a series name does not confirm every model in that series.

Likely causes

  • Excessive detergent causing over-foaming and suds buildup
  • Clogged, overflowing, or limescale-blocked detergent dispenser drawer
  • Water leakage into the base tray triggering the Aqua Control float switch
  • Laundry caught between the door glass and rubber seal, or a damaged seal
  • Clogged, loose, or leaking fluff/drain filter
  • Imbalanced laundry load preventing normal spinning

What to try

Clear excessive foam and adjust detergent dosage

Easy
  1. Switch off the washing machine and disconnect it from power.
  2. Allow the machine to sit undisturbed for a few hours until the detergent foam naturally subsides.
  3. Check inside the drum and detergent drawer for severe oversudsing.
  4. Reconnect power and run a rinse or drain cycle without adding any detergent.
  5. For future washes, reduce detergent quantities and use low-foaming HE (high-efficiency) detergent according to manufacturer dosage guidelines.

Clean the detergent drawer and inspect the door seal

Easy
  1. Switch off the appliance and unplug it from the electrical socket.
  2. Press the release latch to slide out the detergent dispenser drawer.
  3. Rinse the drawer and spray nozzles under warm water to remove detergent residue, softener buildup, and limescale, then firmly reinstall it.
  4. Open the machine door and check the rubber gasket seal for trapped clothing, coins, or lint.
  5. Inspect the rubber seal for punctures, tears, or cracking; if damaged, do not use the machine and contact an authorized service engineer.

Clean and secure the drain pump filter

Easy
  1. Turn off the machine, disconnect the mains plug, and place a shallow tray and towel beneath the bottom filter flap.
  2. Open the filter flap at the bottom front corner of the machine.
  3. Carefully unscrew the fluff filter counterclockwise and allow any residual water to drain out.
  4. Remove lint, debris, or foreign objects from the filter basket and check that the pump impeller behind it turns freely.
  5. Inspect the filter rubber O-ring for wear or deformation.
  6. Refit the filter and tighten it clockwise firmly by hand to ensure a watertight seal, then close the flap.

Drain the base tray to reset the anti-flood float switch

Moderate
  1. Switch off the washing machine, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, and turn off the water supply valve.
  2. Place an absorbent towel on the floor behind the machine.
  3. Carefully tilt the machine backward slightly so there is about 10–15 cm of clearance between the floor and the front kickboard.
  4. Hold the appliance steady in this position for 30–40 seconds to allow any pooled water in the bottom safety tray to drain out onto the towel.
  5. Gently lower the machine back down onto all four feet.
  6. Reconnect the water and electricity supplies and run a test cycle; if the EF0 error code reappears, immediately disconnect the appliance and call an authorized service technician.

This step is marked caution. Stop if you are not qualified to continue.

The code returned or the check did not help?

Avoid repeated resets and do not select a replacement part from the code alone. Record the exact code, full model number, when it appeared, and the checks you tried with their results. Share these details with the manufacturer or service technician.

Disconnecting power does not establish that internal components are safe to touch. This guide does not authorize opening electrical components or bypassing safety devices.
