Does this guide apply to your appliance?

Match the brand, device type and complete display code. The same code can mean something different on another product family or market; a series name does not confirm every model in that series.

Likely causes

  • Clogged lint/fluff filter or debris obstructing the pump impeller
  • Kinked, squashed, or twisted drain hose behind the appliance
  • Drain hose inserted too far into the standpipe (more than 10 cm) or placed at an incorrect height
  • Blocked household plumbing, sink siphon spigot, or standpipe
  • Oversudsing from excessive detergent blocking the pressure level sensor
  • Overheated drain pump thermal cutout or defective drain pump

What to try

Clean the drain filter and inspect the pump impeller

Easy
  1. Turn off the washer dryer and disconnect it from the electrical socket.
  2. Open the service flap at the bottom front of the machine and place shallow trays and towels underneath.
  3. Carefully pull out the emergency drain hose (if equipped) to empty standing water into a bowl, or slowly unscrew the filter cover to let water drain out gradually.
  4. Completely remove the fluff filter and rinse away all lint, coins, hairpins, and debris under warm running water.
  5. Check inside the exposed pump housing; verify that the impeller blades rotate freely using a pencil or small tool to ensure no foreign objects are jamming them.
  6. Refit the clean filter firmly, close the access flap, and reconnect power.
  7. Run a short rinse or hot cycle without laundry or detergent to verify water drains properly.

This step is marked caution. Stop if you are not qualified to continue.

Check drain hose position and household plumbing

Moderate
  1. Pull the appliance forward carefully to inspect the drain hose for sharp bends, twists, kinks, or crushing against the wall.
  2. Ensure the drain hose is positioned at a height between 60 cm and 100 cm above the base of the machine.
  3. Check that the hose does not extend more than 10 cm down into the standpipe to prevent siphoning issues.
  4. If connected under a sink trap/siphon, ensure the spigot blanking plug was removed and that the sink drain itself is running freely.
  5. Test drainage by directing the hose into a large bucket or sink; if it empties freely during a drain cycle, clear the household waste pipe.

Clear detergent oversudsing and reset the thermal cutoff

Easy
  1. Switch off the appliance and leave it unplugged from the mains power for 1 to 2 hours to allow any tripped pump thermal fuse to cool and reset.
  2. If excessive foam is visible inside the drum, wait for it to subside, or manually scoop out thick suds.
  3. Gently rock the empty drum back and forth by hand to help disperse foam trapped in the pressure chamber.
  4. Plug the washer dryer back into mains power.
  5. Run a hot wash cycle (at least 60°C) with an empty drum and no detergent to dissolve residue and clear the pressure chamber.

The code returned or the check did not help?

Avoid repeated resets and do not select a replacement part from the code alone. Record the exact code, full model number, when it appeared, and the checks you tried with their results. Share these details with the manufacturer or service technician.

Disconnecting power does not establish that internal components are safe to touch. This guide does not authorize opening electrical components or bypassing safety devices.
